9 Sure Fire Ways To Boost Your Energy

by Tefal Team on 14 April 2016
  • If you’re like us and feeling inspired by those participating in this year’s London Marathon, but wondering just how they are doing it, this post is for you. Months and months of training is hard work, but that hard work is made easier if your energy levels are nice and high.

If you fancy running the next marathon, or perhaps you just want to get up and active, these tips will help you craft out the perfect plan to keep you energised.

  • Eat regularly

Just like a car needs petrol to drive, out bodies need fuel a.k.a food to function properly. Regular meals keep our energy levels constant.

  • Complex carb it up

Foods like whole grain are released into the blood stream slowly meaning you won’t ever crash, as you’ll have energy all day. Try an incorporate them into your breakfast.

  • Go nuts

A handful of almonds, hazelnuts or cashews added to your diet is a great way to up your magnesium levels. We need magnesium to help break down the glucose in our bodies into energy.

  • Chug, chug, chug!

Did you know that it’s easy to confuse signals of hunger with thirst? Making sure you are drinking enough water is essential to keeping energised.

  • Laugh

We give you permission to share your favourite jokes as laughter raises your blood pressure and it also increases your heart rate. Surely that’ll give you some energy.

  • Wear red

Did you know that seeing bright colours like red make your muscles work harder and are also associated to winning and self-confidence? A great way too boost energy levels

  • Avoid alcohol

We hate to be the bearers of bad news, but alcohol can dehydrate you leading you to feel tired. Although you probably don’t need us to tell you a big Friday night isn’t the best way to an energetic Saturday morning!

  • Take a break

If you’re an office bod we know this one might be hard for you, but make the effort to leave your desk for lunch when possible. A change of scenery will help you reenergise and refocus.

  • Get enough sleep

When we sleep our body repairs tissue and cells that are essential for good health. Not only this but lack of sleep can cause poor concentration and fatigue.

  • Do you have any tricks to boost your energy levels?
