  • Having a wide range of spices to hand is essential for whizzing up delicious home-cooked meals but, just like herbs, a lot of us can be confused by them. Tefalphabet is here to clear up the confusion!

Whether you like it hot, hot, hot or you’ve got a delicate tongue that will be on fire from the slightest hint of chili, adding spice to your dishes can really turn up the flavour.

Adding spice doesn’t necessarily mean a dish will be spicy though; the heat is controlled by using different spices and the quantity you use, so don’t be afraid to experiment with what you put in.

  • Spices are great for more than just their taste though – they’ve also got all kinds of health benefits. Cinnamon, for example, can reduce the risk of heart disease, lower your blood sugar levels and help fight inflammation. If you usually only associate cinnamon with sticky cinnamon buns, you’ve been missing out!

Our infographic below has plenty more information on spices from the chefs at L’Atelier des Chefs to get you trying new things in the kitchen.

  • Get hands-on with a whole range of different spices during a curry cooking class at L’Atelier des Chefs. They’re offering 10% off their 60 minute, 90 minute and 2 hour curry classes to all Tefal fans, up to 31st December 2016. Just use the code TEFAL10.
