Those who use Pinterest know that it is brilliant for finding delicious and unusual recipes. In fact, you probably have at least one board filled with pictures of tasty looking food that you’re determined to try and make at home at some point.
With the popularity of food on Pinterest, it probably doesn’t come as any surprise that Pinterest has started its own awards for the best pinned recipes. The social media site has announced the winners of its first ever Best of Pinterest UK Food Awards, meaning you have a few more recipes to pin.
In total, there are more than 13 billion food ideas shared on Pinterest and the awards were designed to celebrate the best of the bunch. Any Pinterest user located in the UK was able to put their food idea forward for judging.

The awards included a number of different categories and so the finalists and winners are sure to include a few recipes that will get your mouth watering. In total, around 20 different recipes for each of the 12 categories were put on the shortlist. These included blogger recipes and food lovers, as well as celeb chefs like Nigella Lawson and Mary Berry.
Categories included Baking, indulgent recipes, comfort food, Sunday lunch, gluten-free and vegan.
Each recipe was judged on three different criteria: how exciting the recipes were, how easy they were to make at home and whether the panel wanted to eat them. Using these criteria, finalists were chosen from 500 nominations by the panel, which included the BBC Food team, Michelin-starred chef Tom Aikens and Tania Ballantine, the food and drink editor for Time Out UK.

A single winner was chosen from each category – all of which you can find here – with recipes ranging from gluten-free pasta dough to blueberry basil margarita. These winners were announced at an event in London earlier this month. We can’t wait to give some of the winning recipes a whirl!
