Bake Off Special: Tucking Into Chocolate Week…

by Tefal Team on 14 October 2020
  • We’re talking all the action from this week’s episode, the ludicrously indulgent stress fest that is chocolate week. Warning: spoilers ahead…

It’s no secret that we have a bit of a thing for chocolate, so we were glued to this one. There were highs (Linda’s fabulous chocolate babka) and lows (Lottie’s ‘freezer juice’ brownies) and innuendo a-plenty.

After a brutal signature and a technical most had never heard of, the tension was palpable as the bakers battled with white chocolate showstoppers and rising temperatures – always a recipe for disaster.

  • He’s a star!

This week’s Star Baker was none other than Mark L (it’s all about the Marks lately). And after those Gimme S’more brownies and that scrumptious showstopper we’re not surprised.

  • Wave goodbye

Sadly, it was Sura’s turn to leave the tent this week. Her raw showstopper was the final nail after a lack-lustre signature and tricky technical. But we’ll remember her for her sassy humour and knockout flavours.

  • When’s it on?

Bake Off is on Channel 4 every Tuesday at 8pm.

For more details on how and when series 11 was filmed, check out our Bake Off’s Back blog.

  • Who are this year’s contestants?

Find out all the juicy details about this year’s contestants, including who loves high-end patisserie and who’s watched every series of Bake Off and been seriously into baking since 12 years old.

  • What can I do to get into the spirit of episode 4?

Past contestant and now Bake Off: The Professionals host, Liam Charles, shares his recipe for salted caramel chocolate tart. Drool… For something dairy-free and deliciously chocolaty, whip up these vegan lava cakes. They’re sure to melt your heart.

Fancy trying out the technical challenge? This step-by-step guide to chocolate babka perfection should see you right. Or if you’re inspired to bake your own showstopping chocolate creation, try this sensational celebration cake.

Of course, we had to include the mighty brownie and this foolproof recipe for best-ever chocolate brownies would surely past the Hollywood test. The trick? Keep it simple, peeps.

Now that’s a choctastic selection. We agree with you, Laura – a day without chocolate is a day wasted 😉
