When it comes to the best possible British food, you can’t deny that Yorkshire puddings are high up on the list of the most delicious. Whether you serve them up with plenty of gravy on your roast dinner or are a big fan of toad in the hole, Yorkshire puds are quite possibly the food of the gods.
In fact, it seems almost impossible to improve on perfection, but the latest food trend might just have done that. Rather than dishing up puds with meat and two veg, they have been transformed into wraps for delicious food on the go.
While those in Yorkshire might be familiar with the concept of a Yorkshire pudding wrap, it seems they also kept them under their hat for a while. This genius invention is finally making its way around the UK, offering diners a new way to enjoy a tasty wrap when you need a quick lunch.

Independent food stalls like Yorkshire Wrap Company and Market Wraps have been perfecting their recipes for Yorkshire pud wraps for a few years, but now word is out and people are going mad for this brilliant concoction.
Carl Denning, co-founder of Market Wraps – which is based in Leeds – told the Telegraph: “We compete with a wealth of international cuisine including Chinese, Indian and South-East Asian. But our traditional British Yorkshire pudding wraps fill a gap in the market as people want good quality local food as well.
“Originally their success came from their novelty factor, but they just seemed to snowball.”

Wraps come with a number of fillings, including all the fixings you’d usually have on your Sunday roast, which seems like a great idea to us! However, the Yorkshire pudding wraps apparently aren’t as easy to make as you might think.
We all know that sometimes getting your puds to rise can be a nightmare, but – according to the street food stalls – it is even more difficult to get them to rise just enough so as not to be stodgy but not so much that they are stiff, as this stops you from being able to roll them.
Sadly, no one is giving away their recipes and techniques so you might need to experiment a bit – or just hunt down your closest Yorkshire pudding wrap restaurant.
What do you think, do Yorkshire pudding wraps sound like the way forward?
