5 Meals to Warm You Up This December

by Tefal Team on 07 December 2016
  • It seems to have arrived quickly and now that December is here, it’s definitely time to start thinking about winter warmer recipes. This month is when the weather really starts to do its worst, which means cold temperatures, plenty of rain and maybe even a little bit of snow.

This means there’s nothing better than getting home and tucking into a bowl of something super delicious to help warm you up from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. It is also the perfect month for hearty comfort food to ensure you’ve got the energy to get through the cold days.

While you can use our brilliant Cook4Me to whip up dozens of different meals in under half an hour, ensuring your entire family can be kept happy and toasty, we’ve also dug out some great blogger recipes you may also want to try.

Here are five recipes that will definitely warm you up this month:

    • Chickpea and chorizo stew

When it comes to warming recipes, you can’t really beat a good bowl of stew. This is why Cook Sister’s recipe is the perfect option for feeding your family something healthy and delicious this December. What makes it even better is the fact that you can swap the meat chorizo for vegetarian or vegan option and it will still taste just as good.

    • Autumn stuffed squash

We may be getting closer to winter now, but you can still get plenty of delicious squash from your local grocer or supermarket. Not only is squash really delicious, it is incredibly healthy and versatile, not to mention warming. Deliciously Ella has a great recipe for stuffed squash, which you can serve up in a big pumpkin or smaller, individual squashes. Either way it will be incredibly tasty.

    • Simple prawn, mushroom and spinach curry

One way to warm yourself up this December is to cook something with a bit of spice. Curry is a great dish for chasing away the chill and is sure to be a firm family favourite any night of the week. Fab Food 4 All has a brilliant curry recipe that can be made in no time at all and will have everyone asking for seconds, especially if you serve it up with rice and poppadoms.

    • Spicy sausage pizza pasta bake

Pasta is a brilliant ingredient for this time of year as it is filling, cheap and incredibly versatile. On top of that, you can simply pop it in a baking dish with a few choice ingredients and leave it to cook, saving you time and effort. For a break from your usual pasta bake recipes, give this tasty option from Lavender and Lovage a try, which will be great today or warmed up for a lunch of leftovers tomorrow.

    • Savoury bread puddings

Who said that bread puddings need to be sweet? You can make them savoury too, resulting in a really warming and filling meal that will help to fight off the cold this December. This recipe from Amuse Your Bouche is full of flavour and reasonably easy to make, ensuring you have a great choice for weeknights and weekends that will keep the family happy.
