How To Look Your Best For Special Occasions

  • ‘To look good is to feel good’ as the old saying goes… and who doesn’t want to look their best?

Whether you’re attending an old friend’s wedding reception or your daughter’s graduation, heading out for a romantic dinner or even preparing for an important work presentation, we all want to impress.

Our worst nightmare looks something like this: turning up to an event, wearing something stained or torn, with un-brushed hair and some of last night’s dinner in our teeth. Met by cameras, we fear that the memory of our wardrobe mishap will live forever on social media.

But, you can wipe your brow the nightmare isn’t real! Because we don’t want this to ever be something you experience, we have five top tips to help you look your best for every special occasion. So rest assured you can look and feel good at the same time. Here’s how:

  • Get organised

The last thing you want to be doing before your special occasion is rushing around. Get organised and plan ahead of time so that you’re all set to go: make sure your outfit is laid out ready to wear and you have an idea of how you’ll do your hair and makeup. Ensure you’ve had a good night’s rest and factor in some time for a little TLC!

  • Treat your tresses

For locks that are show-stopping, book yourself a treatment or special ‘do at your salon. Ask your hairdresser to advise what will look good for your special occasion.

  • Go shopping

The last thing you want to be doing is running around a shopping centre just hours before your event kicks off. Give yourself the time to browse, try things on and find your perfect outfit.

  • Pamper yourself

As we’ve already established if you look good you feel good, but it also works the other way round: feel good and it will show. Book yourself a massage before your event, or if you don’t have time for that, a simple manicure or pedicure will leave you feeling – quite literally – polished!

  • Get active

Get the body you’ve been dreaming of! Depending on when your special occasion is, pull out all the stops by getting fit and active. Try to fit in at least 30 minutes of exercise a day – walk or run to get your heart rate up – and you’ll feel good and look even better.
